You read the subject correctly! We are starting a 4-part Decluttering Series, and I am so excited to share this content with you. Many people are dealing with clutter and chaos, and I know this information will help and bless so many!

Before we get started with this amazing decluttering series, I want to make sure all of my readers have the Summer Organizing Checklist. You may not have received or seen it because it was recently added to our website! This checklist has valuable information to assist you on your organizing journey, especially if you are a DIYer. If you are not a DIYer and you need further assistance we service the Charlotte metro area and beyond. We travel and we offer Virtual Organizing services.

Ok, let’s get into it!!!

Today, we are going to start internally!

What feelings come up when you think about decluttering?

🥺🥴😳🙃🤣😔😡😢 🤕

Do any of these emojis express what you feel when you think about decluttering? If you are like most, you have probably experienced all these emotions, or will eventually 🤣.

In part 1 of our 4-part decluttering series, I want to start by bringing some comfort to you when you think about decluttering. According to PR Newswire, 54% of Americans live in clutter and chaos. To take it a step further, 78% are overwhelmed with their clutter and don’t know where to start or what to do with it. Just pause for a second and take that in… You are not alone!!! Many of us are overwhelmed with one thing or another, and as you can see, clutter is a common source of this overwhelm. So take comfort in knowing, you are not alone. Settle into the peace of knowing this clutter demon has taken up residence in millions of homes.

Now take a deep breath!!!

Here’s something else to consider… Exterior clutter is just a manifestation of what’s going on inside. Said another way, you can physically see what’s going on inside a person based on what you see outside of them. There are tons of studies that show clutter is not only caused by depression, anxiety, and a host of other illnesses, but it also increases with these same illnesses.

Just know, there’s freedom on the other side of clutter. What I’ve learned from all of my clients is the amount of freedom you feel when you get just one room decluttered— you know, that 1st room… THE room—is indescribable. STOP and try to imagine a life free from clutter! Your freedom lives in your imagination first. Let’s make that freedom a reality.

There’s hope for you to live what I call “The Organized Life!” Not just to have one or two organized spaces, but to create a lifestyle filled with organized living that brings you daily peace and productivity!

I hope you are excited to keep digging into this decluttering series with me! #staytuned

Warm regards,

Takilla Combs, Professional Organizer, Xtreme Audacity
